A day in Tartu. Tartu on my mind

A day in Tartu. Tartu on my mind.

Eleven hours of happiness
Eleven hours of love
Fleeting day as a moment of eternity
As eternity descending by
Eleven drops of blood
On the snow - one by one
Eleven wives for breathtaking
It is only me and you and I am she!

Unknown poet from XIV Century

Woke up, fell out of bed,
Dragged my comb across my head
Found my way to the kitchen box and drank a cup,
And looking up I noticed I was late.
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the run to Ulikoli in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke,
Somebody spoke and I went into a dream.
I read the news today oh man
Four thousand mosquitoes in Tartumaa
And though the invaders were rather small
They had to count them all.
For the record book.
Now they know how many mosquitoes it takes
To fill the Vanemuise hall.
Tartu on my mind is full of friends,
But empty when they gone.
Because a town without a friend is like a desert.
Tartu on my mind is joy, so rich and full
Of sour that you are asking more and more.
The road leads back to you.
Warm embraces are awaiting me. Lovely eyes smile tenderly.
I dream of you while craving for your peace.
Other eyes smile lovingly.
And long evenings are ahead with merry companies.
The road leads back to you.
The Jackdaws are still gathering
Like an invincible army, like a heralds of Destiny
The devil and angel are looking towards me
But my way’s still leads back to you

Because I love you Tartu.
